Currently, I am a Ecological Sciences PhD student at Old Dominion University, and part of the Coastal Plant and Ecotone Ecology Lab. I have experience in marine ecology, data management, and experimental design.
I obtained my B.Sc. degree from Simón Bolívar University in Caracas, Venezuela. I have learned several ways to communicate scientific information to the specialized and non-specialized public and have learned to work well either in interdisciplinary teams or on individual projects, thanks to my trajectory in student governance, experience at field trips, and educational talks along the coast, working in the Marine Biology and the Experimental Ecology labs, NGOs, and as a copywriter for a nautical newspaper. Also, I have strong skills in statistics and Geographic Information Systems. I am a World Commission on Protected Areas member at the International Union for Conservation of Nature. I am the Treasurer of the Biological Graduate Students Organization, and I am the Vicepresident of the Global Monarch Club to guide international students in their learning and development experience at ODU.
